it's likely you're gonna say "omg me too!" When i tell you this but, i've never been good at "the norm." i went to college because thats what you did in 2007. I chose theatre as my major because that seemed the least "soul crushing" to me at the time. i worked in corporate america right out of college in boston but "the grind" never felt like a good fit for me. friends were getting promoted and married and i was taking live-in nanny jobs so i could see the world and not commute at 7am like everyone else.
a few soul-crushing jobs later (and a marriage and a baby and a house) i needed a career. something i could care about, while also prioritizing my young family. i started my first business in 2013 and from there i learned how much i really excelled in branding and marketing online. i was a local childbirth business and my classes sold out consistently.
why?
i stood out from the competition with my professional website and building trust on my social media platforms.
I sold that first business and stepped into social media marketing and my client list quickly overwhelmed me, sound familiar?
Then my biggest smm client poached me for the director of marketing role and the next 3 years WAS FILLED WITH LEARNING NEW MARKETING STRATEGIES AND SKILLS UNTIL I DECIDED TO GET BACK TO WHAT MY SOUL CRAVED, WORKING WITH CREATIVE, BADASS WOMEN!
hEY;) i'M dani
